In order for your esthetician to perform a sugar waxing service on you, they have to evaluate your hair and make sure you are a good candidate. Your hair has to be no longer or shorter than a grain of rice. If your hair is too long or short, the sugar paste may not be able to fully grip the hair correctly, causing a painful and incomplete service. If the esthetician believes your hair is too long or too coarse, they may recommended that you instead do hard waxing and try again in 3 weeks.

Choosing sugaring over hard waxing can be a personal preference, but there are distinct benefits to consider. Sugaring is often preferred for its natural ingredients, typically consisting of sugar, lemon, and water, making it gentler on the skin and suitable for those with sensitive skin. Unlike hard wax, sugaring adheres only to the hair and not the skin, and has no heat, reducing pain and minimizing the risk of irritation. Sugaring grabs hair at shorter lengths, allowing you to wax more often (leading to quicker results and less ingrowns). Sugaring also has no heat.
On the other hand, Hard waxing is a much quicker service, and some feel that the low heat of the hard wax makes the service feel more luxurious, and even comforting. Hard waxing can also be a bit more convenient, as it also allows you to get waxed even if your hair is very long.
Both options are great options for hair removal, because at the end of the day, they both pull the hair from the root! Discuss with your esthetician what she recommends based on your hair and waxing-wants! -
Absolutely! Men have body hair too! Its all preference of how we prefer to groom ourselves.

Ingrown hairs are totally normal after a wax, but can be prevented. When waxing, our hair is being pulled from the root, beneath the skin. The hair has to actually grow back up and pop its way back through a pore in our skin. The way to prevent it from getting stuck under our skin is by making sure to follow the aftercare our esthetician has recommended to us. To sum up aftercare: Exfoliate 3-4 times a week, Moisturize daily, wear breathable and loose(er) undies, and stick to a waxing routine.
